Bossman Turns 90

Happy Birthday Bossman!

The Pittsburgh radio ledgend hits the big 90. Porky was one the people who encouraged me to pursue radio back when I worked with him at 3WS. I've collected many of Porky's records over the years and worked on a concert at 3 Rivers Stadium to celebrate his 50 years in broadcasting.

While most people outside of the Pittsburgh area don't know Porky, music ledgends sure know him. I remember picking up the phone once and on the other end of the line was Dick Clark. He was calling to wish Porky well. James Brown loved him. Bo Diddley gave him credit for his success. And the list goes on and on.

I was honored to go with Porky to the Rock and Roll Hame of Fame when he was inducted.
