Conservative Democrats aim to rule out Pa. stem cell funds
President Bush's veto of a bill that would have expanded federal support for embryonic stem cell research has put states in position to take a lead on funding research that many believe would lead to cures for a host of debilitating diseases. But in Pennsylvania, a group of self-described "pro-life Democrats" began an effort yesterday to see to it that Pennsylvania doesn't join the growing list of states that fund embryonic stem cell research.
