Should Israel Launch Preemptive Strike Against Iran?

Do you recall that "axis of evil" speech President Bush gave few years back? He named Iraq, Iran and North Korea as earning a dubious spot on the short list.

We know what happened to Iraq. We all got to see a dictator in his underwear. Well now number 2 Iran is acting up as predicted and some are calling on Israel to handle this one.

Teheran seems to be moving towards acquiring its own nuclear arsenal and that concerns a bunch of folks but none more than Israel. Maybe it was that 40ft banner that used to hang outside the entrance of the foreign ministry in Teheran bearing the message: "Israel Must Burn" that has made Israel forever uneasy. Of course Iran has become a bit more subtle by reducing their death cry to "Down With Israel" chants of students who march after Friday prayers. in

Israel is no stranger to threats and danger but the problem now is now an enemy committed to its annihilation appears close to being able to deploy the most destructive force known to man. What Israel and the world need to figure out, is what to do about all of this.

In 1981 a unilateral Israeli airstrike on Iraq's Osirak nuclear reactor took place. Some say Israel, should do it again only this time in Iran. But Iran has learn from Iraq and has spread its nuclear facilities far and wide, with nine known locations. Each facility is buried under tons of reinforced concrete.

The other side of all this does not seem to be mention too much. Israel has a nuclear bomb. If they were attacked by Iran or any other force, they most certainly would respond in kind. This would plunge the middle east and the entire world into a devastating scenario.

So.... for all you armchair Generals out there, do you stand down and bet Iran would never attack Israel for fear of itself being attacked? Or, do you launch a pre-emptive military attack on Iran's growing nuclear infrastructure?

Choose wisely.
