It's begining to seem like some in Harrisburg change theor mind more often than their underware.
Three more Western Pennsylvania lawmakers have decided not to take the new 16 percent pay raise, bringing the total of legislators rejecting it in the past week to eight statewide.
State Reps. Jess Stairs, R- Mt. Pleasant, Joseph Petrarca, D-Vandergrift, and Sean Ramaley, D-Economy, issued statements yesterday declining the pay raise, after saying last week they'd accept it.
In a related matter, Gov. Ed Rendell said yesterday he understands the anger of many Pennsylvanians over the unvouchered expenses. "I'm not surprised by the outcry over the pay raise," he told reporters at the Capitol. "I can understand people's consternation. The public has a right to be concerned." Keep in mind this is the guy who signed the bill!
