OBAMA CLAIMS NOMINATION

Wow! This gets more twisted everyday. Let's try to cover it all. It looks like Hillary won the popular vote, if you count Michigan – even if you give Obama the “undecided” votes. However, according to Real Clear Politics, officials didn’t release the numbers in Iowa, Nevada, Washington & Maine. Those states would likely give the edge to Obama, unless you count Michigan and don’t give Obama the “undecided.” So if you only count actual votes for actual candidates, Hillary wins. (Real Clear Politics)

Any sign of actual numbers of voters were hard to find. Most, like these “election results” from CBS, just note delegates. (CBS News) The same is true with CNN. (CNN)

Jimmy Carter is among the superdelegates to back Obama. (CNN)

In his speech, Obama went after McCain, saying “It's not change when John McCain decided to stand with George Bush 95 percent of the time, as he did in the Senate last year.” Risky words from a Senator whose record is so extremely left. (Transcript)

From the Wall Street Journal: For all of his inspiring rhetoric about bipartisanship, his voting record is among the most partisan in the Senate. His policy agenda is conventionally liberal across the board – more so than Hillary Clinton's, and more so than that of any Democratic nominee since 1968. We can't find a single issue on which Mr. Obama has broken with his party's left-wing interest groups. (WSJ)

Despite Obama's claim, Hillary did not concede. (USA Today/Transcript)

McCain didn’t waste time introducing Obama to America: “Americans ought to be concerned about the judgment of a presidential candidate who says he's ready to talk, in person and without conditions, with tyrants from Havana to Pyongyang, but hasn't traveled to Iraq to meet with General (David) Petraeus, and see for himself the progress he threatens to reverse.” (CBS News)

Here is what all this comes down to... Assuming Obama get the nod, the Democratic party will nominate a far left candidate. Not just a candidate with liberal positions mind you, we are talk a FAR LEFT candidate that who's polices and ideas teeter on the edge of socialism.

In Obama's speech he talked about "universal health care" and "jobs for all". It sounds great but who is paying for all this. If a person is in great need of medical care they can get it in this country. Unemployment is so low that people without jobs are often those who don't want them.

Obama is a great at giving speeches. I have described politics as the art of constantly talking but never saying anything. Obama is great at doing just that. He has grand ideas of where to go but has no clue how to get there.

I'm not thrilled with any of our options in this election. However, the fact that the Democratic party is about to choose and inexperienced person with highly questionable connections as their pick for the top job should serve as an ominous sign for Democrats. That fact the Obama leads McCain by 1% is an even more grave sign for Republicans.
