Peace in The Emerald Isle?

Intervening for the second time in three days, President Bush on Sunday telephoned Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams in an effort to advance negotiations toward a power-sharing agreement between Northern Ireland's Catholics and Protestants. On Friday, from his ranch, Bush called Ian Paisley, whose Democratic Unionist Party represents most of Northern Ireland's British Protestant majority. The plan reportedly includes an expectation that the outlawed Irish Republican Army would disarm fully by Christmas. It also would, for the first time, allow Catholic and Protestant clergymen to witness the previously secretive process of scrapping arms. Adams, who heads the political face of the IRA, has said he would need to review the latest plan in detail. It is rather interesting that Sinn Fein would consider any plan advanceed by President Bush who is himslef a Protestant. Yet no Christian can disagree with protecting life. While it is a shame that Protestants have abandoned the truth of the Catholic church, it is not cause to take a life. Let us all pray for peace and unity.

Ok, here we go. I thought my comment might stir some attention. If you are a Christian but outside the Catholic faith you are missing essential elements of Christianity. You have 95% of what Christ taught but Protestant reject the rest. I won't go so far too say you are doomed to hell but the most direct path to learn what the early Christians were taught is through the Catholic church. I know many people are told things about the Catholic Faith. We worship idols and Mary. We worship the Pope. Some even say we are a cult. These, and a few others, are the standard Protestant lines when it comes to questions about Catholics. Most of it is due to ignorance. I can't get into everything here, but I pray God will grace you with a true understanding of what Jesus did for all of us and the truth of the Catholic Christian Faith. The central element in the Catholic Faith is the Eucharist. That Eucharist is CHRIST. We join with Jesus through the blessed sacrament of the Eucharist. We remain in him, and he in us. Jesus speaks of his flesh and blood, but many cannot comprehend what he means. That was true in his time also. We are too caught up in the worldly meaning of "flesh and blood" to understand that it is his real presence in the Eucharist. No other faith undersatnds this. Maybe you have strayed from or never truly known the Catholic Church. It's the only church founded by Christ himslef. Have you joined a church because it agrees with your beliefs? I invite you to learn the COMPLETE TRUTH About Christianity.
