NBC backing off Madonna special

According to New York Daily News, the NBC network is retreating from an earlier announcement of its plan to air a two-hour concert special featuring Madonna hanging on a cross wearing a fake crown of thorns.

NBC Entertainment chief Kevin Reilly had said earlier Madonna considered the scene mocking the crucifixion of Christ the highlight of her show. "We (NBC) viewed it and didn't see it as being inappropriate."

However, his opinion changed quickly after NBC came under tremendous pressure. We expect a public announcement from NBC canceling the scene within two weeks

I'm glad to hear that NBC dumped Madonna, I feel it would of been very offensive to all Christians plus I feel many people would of protested and not watched other programs aired on NBC.

People need to lighten up about Madonna and realize she is attempting to get the attention of others to do something for the starving and needy people on this planet. And I hope we all know that Jesus was far from the only person crucified on a cross! If people want to know more of the type of person Madonna has matured into - watch her special on DVD "I'm Going to Tell you a Secret". Otherwise, don't speak unless you speak with facts and intelligence!
