Perzel vows to fight Gov. Rendell

Lest we forget, we received a double-digit personal tax increase because House and Senate Republican leadership, including House Speaker Perzel, promised Governor Rendell that they would peel off enough Republican votes to pass Rendell’s tax increase. The Republican leadership also did the same thing in securing passage of slots and pay raises.

Thus far during Rendell’s term, Republican leadership effectively turned the Republican majorities in both the House and Senate into functional minorities. These bills passed against the majority vote of the Republican caucus.

If Perzel holds true to his statements in this article, it will be a welcome change.
