It's one week until Thanksgiving - and 35 stations are already all-Christmas. Markets like Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City and Ft. Myers/Naples already have two all-holiday stations. We expect plenty more to flip on the holiday lights next week, and you can track them at
100000 Watts . Last year the site reported over 300 stations doing all-Christmas, by Christmas week.

So far, 5 people have expressed to me their dumbfoundment over this. At least until I explained to them that it's tied in to "setting the atmosphere" at stores and getting the stations tuned in there to get the shoppers to buy more/get their advertisers heard by more people in the midst of actively shopping.
Then they "got it"!
Oh yeah. I forgot it's all about the dollar. I can undersatnd the reason and it was good idea the first few years but I'm just tired of it.
I just wish the motivation was different....
