PA HB 288 requires hospitals and other emergency facilities to ‘promptly’ provide victims of sexual assault with information about “emergency contraceptives” including Plan B. Hospitals are also to readily supply the regimen of emergency contraceptives. One thing this bill does not require is for the hospital to report the sexual assault.
The bill also says a non-profit chosen by the Department of Health will develop and provide the ‘medically and factually accurate” information. It also says that the non-profit shall be “the prime grantee that arranges for the provision of services to sexual violence and rape victims.” Hmmm, just who would this so called, unnamed non-profit organization be?
Could The PA Legislature Be Sending Assault Victims To Planned Parenthood?
