The Spirit of Grace

When Jesus was preparing to leave the earth and take His rightful place at the right hand of the throne of the Father He spoke of the coming Holy Spirit. He said,

"I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away;
for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you;
but if I go, I will send Him to you. And He, when He comes,
will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgement."

John 16:7-8

This "Helper," the Holy Spirit, is the "Spirit of Grace" (see Hebrews 10:29). And Jesus informs us of the "first-works" of this Spirit of Grace. From this direct teaching of Jesus we learn that:

-Grace without the conviction of sin is nothing more than a demonic doctrine (see John 5:14; 8:11).

-Grace without righteousness is...UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. "We have received grace...to bring about the obedience of faith" (Romans 1:5; see also, Romans 16:26).

-Grace without the awareness of judgement is the epitomy of delusion.

Indeed, the Spirit of Grace is one and the same Holy Spirit that Jesus sent to "convict the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgement" (see above). Ironically, the "Satanic spirit of grace" that the devil and his servants promote (see 2 Corinthians 11:13-14) is a "grace" devoid of all three; conviction, righteousness and judgement. The "grace" of Satan is a literal "insult to the Spirit of Grace" (see Hebrews 10:29).

We best understand the difference.
