This is a good start in getting the state government out of the abortion business. Last year, the PA House came within a few votes of de-funding Planned Parenthood. Sensing another attempt might be in the works to remove the funds from Planned Parenthood from this year’s budget, the governor’s office went “stealth” in funding Planned Parenthood. Unlike previous budgets, this year’s budget has no separate line item for Planned Parenthood. Evidently, Planned Parenthood’s funding in this year’s budget is buried somewhere in non-itemized spending, making it very difficult to find and remove.
