Bounsgate: Veon, Ramaley Charged

The State has filed criminal charges against former House Democratic Whip Mike Veon and state Rep. Sean Ramaley, D-Beaver, as well as several current and former top state House aides in connection with the legislative bonus scandal, Attorney General Tom Corbett announced today.

Ramaley is the State Rep. in my district. I have not been very impressed.

Mr. Ramaley is accused holding a no-work job as an aide to Mr. Veon while Mr. Ramaley was running for state representative in 2004. Mr. Ramaley also is accused of using a Beaver Falls legislative office for political campaign work. Ramaley spent more than $108,000 on his primary campaign.

Ramaley is looking to move to the Senate. This legal issue may sideline that plan.
