MS MAGAZINE COVER BRAGS “I HAD AN ABORTION”

With thousands of signatures from women making the declaration. One signer bragged "I wanted to do something bigger with myself _ I didn't want to be stopped by anything." (AP) A similar conclusion made by Susan Smith before she murdered her two young children. (Wikipedia)

I had an abortion years ago, its something that I still regret and its certainly not something that I would announce to the world, I had a hard time getting myself to confession because I thought I would get excommunicated. My prayers are with all of those contemplating doing it and my prayers are with those who have already done it.

If I may ask, please share with us what happened when you went to confession?

It took me 20 years to get to confession, I was terrified.the priest was very nice to me, he told me never to be afraid to come back to confession no matter what I did, after that, I felt so much better, relieved as if a weight had been removed from my body.

You know, I believe everything happens for a reason. I want to thank you for sharing your story.

God uses everything for his glory. Even our mistakes. I hope everyone who feels they could never confess and have automaticly disconnected themself from the church will read your post.

There is not one sin that you can commit that God can not forgive through repentance.

You have a gift. It's a story that can help others. While you may never tell the world your story, just your words here I believe will help others.

If you ever choose to write your story you have an open invite to post it here.

Blessings to you.

Thanks for being so kind and understanding Powerball. Some day I will hopefully be able to share the entire story with you, something I have never even done with my own family.

But to anyone out there who has had or is thinking of abortion, remember God forgives us of our sins no matter how terrible they are, we also have to learn to forgive ourselves.

Thank you too Unseen One, for your kind words.

I'd also like to add that if anyone is thinking of abortion, don't do it. Opt for adoption instead.

I'm fortunate my own biological mother opted to put me up for adoption. Had I been conceived two years later, I most likely wouldn't be here today.
