State Rep. Jeff Habay is to undergo psychological testing by today as part of an agreement with prosecutors in connection with charges that he threatened a witness.
It might be a good idea to test all in the government. Wouldn't those results be entertaining to read. The evaluations involve a battery of verbal tests to determine a defendant's mental health or fitness to stand trial. Psychological tests are mandated in homicides, assaults, arsons, kidnappings, harassment, sex offenses and crimes against minors or animals. But not required for politicians.
A series of legal woes for the lawmaker, now in his sixth term, began last spring when the state Ethics Commission determined that he had used state-paid workers for political purposes. Six terms. Count them SIX and he may have a mental issue. Not to mention HE IS STILL IN OFFICE. Given that record he might just be Governor some day!
