THE Archbishop of Canterbury has signalled that the rift between Anglicans and Catholics stemming from the Reformation could finally be healed, following the reconciliation between the churches during the reign of John Paul II.
Rowan Williams said that although the breach with Rome -- dating to the 16th century Reformation, which aimed to reform the Catholic Church and resulted in the establishment of the Protestant churches -- was "not yet at an end", there had been an irreversible reconciliation between Anglicans and Catholics during the reign of John Paul II for his successor to build on.
Many theological issues remained to be ironed out, and differences over gay bishops and the role of women in the church remained. But few doubted the late pope had been "a figurehead for all Christians, a parish priest to the whole world".
The 115 cardinals who will choose the next pope began a week of "intense silence and prayer" and, in an unprecedented move, agreed to stop giving media interviews.

Prophesy unfolding...a one world religion indifferent to scripture and controlled by the anti-christ. The combined church will indeed relax the abortion and gay issues and an "all for one, one for all...can't we all just get along" atmosphere will pervade. And just when everyone is giving this great big group hug...1Thess5:3 says-For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
I expect the usual rhetoric of denial by those raised in the roman catholic church as well as Angelicans and other forms of man-made religion, but there will be no denial when this comes to fruition, only contempt for this truth being forwarned will be evident. The upcoming regime at the Vatican will be interesting to watch over the next several years as they compromise on policy and church teaching in a quest to increase it's size and ultimately it's power both politically and monetarily. Don't argue...just hide and watch!
