The Sunday sales of beer by the case and by the keg will start Sept. 4, just in time for the start of the new college and pro football seasons. It's also the day before Labor Day. For beer distributors to be open on Sundays (from noon to 5 p.m. only), they must get a Sunday license approved by the LCB.
Gov. Ed Rendell this week signed a new law allowing Sunday beer sales by distributors for the first time in Pennsylvania. It is to take effect in 60 days, which the LCB has now determined means Sept. 4.
Just don't spill it on the slot machines!
