The Next Step

There is a headline today in the Washington Times that reads "U.S. told of Iranian effort to create nuclear warhead." It's not a surprise to me. Iran has been a terrorist thorn in our side for years. All the experts ponder the next step when those of us paying attention have already been told. Think back to the infamous "Axis if Evil" speech that President Bush gave in 2002. Yes almost 3 years ago our President openly shared with Americans and the world what he was going to do. He talked about Iraq, (You can check that of the 'to do' list) Iran and North Korea. He said, "North Korea is a regime arming with missiles and weapons of mass destruction, while starving its citizens. Iran aggressively pursues these weapons and exports terror, while an unelected few repress the Iranian people's hope for freedom." So there is the list of problems he intends to deal with. He also said in that speech, "States like these, and their terrorist allies, constitute an axis of evil, arming to threaten the peace of the world." Notice he said world and not just America. I have said a few times that America is bound to take military action in Iran and North Korea next and I get a puzzled look from people. Folks, we just re-elected President Bush and he told all of us he plans to do this. I think we need to deal with these problems and support doing so in whatever manner it requires. For those of you wondering how a Christian can say this, consider peace is often the result of war and not the avoidance of it.
