LARGE IMMIGRATION RALLYS PLANNED FOR MONDAY

Demonstrations in 60 major cities could see largest demonstration by immigrants in history. Over the past two months, Spanish-language radio hosts have emerged as a driving force behind the immigration rallies. Once relatively rare, the number of Spanish-language media outlets across the nation has grown greatly over the past decade. (WashPost) The list of participants includes; Catholic Bishops, Free Palestinian Alliance, Korean Truth Commission, Muslim Student Association, Mexican Solidarity Network, Party for Socialism and Liberation. “What is at stake for groups that are not primarily Hispanic? And with the recent track record of two movements (anti war/anti globalization) what is the prospect of success at this? Who else is fixed on the immigration issue, and why?” (ChSciMon)
