Swipes and attacks on Christianity are not limited to television, magazines, and the movies. A recent visit to a Costco warehouse shows that slams on the Christian faith are plentiful in book displays.
One side of a(n) (estimated) 40-foot-long table showcased a ridiculously high number of new titles that set out to challenge the traditional Christian narrative or attack its believers. Witness the Costco table with the book titles,
The Jesus Papers by Michael Baigent (Baigent makes the outrageous claim that Jesus faked his crucifixion. (Yes, Baigent really claims this.) He also told NBC News that "we don't even know He (Jesus) existed." Hmmm ... See any contradiction there?)
Misquoting Jesus by Bart Ehrman (Challenging the New Testament documents, Ehrman appears to have forged a career in trying to degrade orthodox Christianity. He describes himself as a "happy agnostic." His work has been rebutted (here, for example).
