CNS WASHINGTON - For the first time, more than 100 senior Muslim leaders from around the world sent a letter to Pope Benedict XVI and other Christian leaders proposing theological similarities as a basis for peace and understanding.
"Finding common ground between Muslims and Christians is not simply a matter for polite ecumenical dialogue between selected religious leaders," said 138 Muslim leaders in a letter released Oct. 11 in Washington.
Here is what I find really interesting. This letter was not sent to Billy Graham or Rick Warren or Joel Osteen or any other evangelical leader.
100 senior Muslim leaders consider the pontiff the leader of all Christianity. If we are to seek common ground between Muslims and Christians, don't we need common ground among Christians first?

We have common ground: Christ and His sacrifice.
I doubt evangelical leaders get much play in the muslim world.
Ahhhh... I seem to remember Rick Warren strolling down mainstreet in Syria explaining what a peaceful and tolerant place Syria really is.
That got alot of play!
