Duffy pleads guilty

Former sportscaster John Duffy could face more than five years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography. The 47-year-old former weekend sports anchor on WEAE (1250),also worked as a local correspondent for the national ESPN Radio network. Duffy will be sentenced on Jan. 22. He is currently in federal custody. Prosecutors allege that Duffy was sharing child pornography with other computer users via the Internet. When arrested in May, prosecutors said, Duffy had more than 40 video files on his computer that showed children engaged in sex acts.

Renda Rumors

The rumor mill is running about possible changes at Renda Broadcasting's WJAS (1320) and WPTT (1360). One rumor has the company shuffling hosts at its music station, WJAS, while another has a format change at news-talker WPTT.

Back to You," the Fox sitcom set in a fictional Pittsburgh TV newsroom, has been picked up for a full season.

WLTJ puts Christmas Music on HD

WLTJ, at least their HD channel at 92.9-2 has flipped from Classic Rock to Christmas music. Sadly, they are not the first station to roll our the X-Mas soundtrack. The B train wreck gets that honor.
