The mystery will be sloved today at 5PM. Will former CBS Talker WTZN-F (93.7 THE ZONE) rekindle the Top 40 format as B94 that it abandoned for Rock as WRKZ on JULY 7, 2004 for a head-to-head battle with crosstown CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WKST? Or, will CBS take another run at market leading CLEAR CHANNEL Rocker WDVE?A lot of that speculation has been flying. Adding more fodder for tongue-waggers was the release of a red-on-red and hard-to-read B94 logo. One insider predicts it will be a Top 40 with female 18-34 focus on Pop music versus Rhythmic, and that RYAN MILL will be the PD, and sister station (STAR 100.7) pushing older to crowd CLEAR CHANNEL's WWSW (3WS). And then again, none of this could happen.
There is one big problem with a B94 return..... (more proof they have no clue what they are doing) those former WBZZ calls now belong to REGENT for their Hot AC serving the ALBANY, NY market.
