Do We Gossip Too Much???

I bet you could name at least on friend, relative or co-worker who can't be trusted to keep a secret of any kind. If you tell them anything, you might as well rent a billboard or post it here!

We've become a nation of rumors and gossip. Everywhere you turn, somebody's telling somebody something very private about somebody else.

How do private phone messages wind up on the Internet? How do intimate photos get distributed all over the world? How do private, internal issues end up on the news?

We seem to know who is pregnant, getting married, going to jail, getting divorced, cheating, ill and it goes on and on. It's the death of discretion!

As the Washington Post so subtly put it, "Nearly 14 million people had to stick their heads in a vat of lye to disinfect their eyes and ears after witnessing booted 'American Idol' contestant Corey Clark discuss his alleged affair with judge Paula Abdul on 'Primetime Live' on Wednesday."

Do we need to know that? So much for kiss and tell. Whatever happened to keeping intimate moments INTIMATE?

Hey I love a good story. It's my job, but is anything off limits anymore?
