The Tax Mess Continues

The state Legislature may push for changes to help reform Allegheny County's troubled property assessment system. Next month, two local legislators plan to introduce a bill in Harrisburg that would prevent counties, municipalities and school districts from collecting additional revenue from a property reassessment, overriding a state law that allows them to reap a 5 percent windfall.
