BRITISH, BRITISH, DEATH TO YOU, DEATH TO YOU

Britain’s dispute with Iran turned ugly yesterday when hundreds of hardliners besieged the British Embassy in Tehran, pelting it with stones and thunder-flashes (Times of London). The protestors outside the Britain’s Embassy in Tehran chanted “British, British, death to you, death to you” while riot police kept order with tear gas. Meanwhile, President Bush over the weekend called on Iran to give the hostages back labeling Iran’s conduct “inexcusable” (New York Times cf. “U.S. Keeping Pressure on Iran”). And for those with access be sure to read Theodore Dalrymple’s commentary in the Wall Street Journal “No Way to Treat a Lady.”
