Mayor Forms Group To Keep Young People In Region

Post Gazette: Fresh off the news that the region has lost more people this decade than any other metro area outside of New Orleans, Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl today announced the formation of a commission dedicated to keeping young professionals here. Read more..

Is it just me, or is this about the millionth study group commissioned to study the population loss and “brain drain” in Pittsburgh and in PA? Jim,
Your statement flies in the face of conventional democratic wisdom! Raising taxes means more services that can be offered to people. Plus, this is PITTSBURGH!!! We have two new stadiums! Guess we had better raise taxes again to keep more people, right?

It's not just Pittsburgh that's losing people. I grew up in Ohio and they have all of the same articles and studies about the 'brain drain' there too. People move where the jobs are, which currently is the West and South West...
