AFGHAN COURT DROPS CASE AGAINST CHRISTIAN CONVERT

The Washington-DC based human rights group, International Christian Concern (ICC) www.persecution.org has heard that that Abdul Rahman’s case has been dismissed by the Afghan court and that he will be freed between today (Sunday) and Tuesday. Jeff King, president of International Christian Concern, releases the following statement:

"He is going to be released on legal grounds (poor evidence, holes in the case etc). Technically he will still be in danger as the case is being turned back to the prosecutor for review but we understand that this is a technicality."

"Please keep Rahman in prayer. He will be in grave danger as long as he remains in the country. The fundamentalists will seek to kill him regardless of what the courts say. He is an apostate and must be killed according to Islamic law."

"ICC wishes to thank the media and journalists of the world that took up the case of one persecuted Christian and became a voice for the voiceless. We ask them to keep in mind the millions of others that suffer due to their religious convictions in China, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Sudan, and many other countries."

"Please express your thanks to the Afghanistan Embassy in Washington DC for upholding the principle of religious freedom."
