Elton John has attacked the Catholic Church and its position on condom use as a reason for the demise of 60 of his friends to the sexually-transmitted disease, AIDS.
Speaking at a business awards ceremony in London he slammed the Catholic Church's anti-condom stance, called on big business to help battle against Aids and applauded the government's commitment to provide funds for free education in Africa.
He said, "We don't have a medical vaccine but we have a social vaccine and it's called education." He failed to include in his so-called education platform that condoms may be a leading reason for the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Even leading health experts at the United Nations have acknowledged that condoms have an estimated 10% failure rate.
I'm not quite sure why his friends would follow the Catholic teaching forbiding condoms, but ignore all other teachings on sexuality. Suppose Elton's 60 friends had followed the entire Catholic teaching of sexuality. How many of them would be dead of AIDS today?
By the way, if your looking at the picture, Elton is the one on the left.

I think that was an unfair comment by Elton John, I think the church meant non-condom use for married men and women
