Latest Ratings

The latest Pittsburgh radio ratings still show a thin lead by #1 WDVE over KDKA. While the margin is thin, this is the second book that KDKA has finished 2nd in the 12+ Category.

Some other notable changes since the fall book include WRRK's rise into the top 10 with the new BOB-FM format in place since November. The station finished with 2.8 in the fall and has risen to 4.5 this book.

WSHH and WJAS share 9th place with a 4.3 this time around. AC-formatted WSHH fell from a 5.2 while Adult Standard WJAS rose from a 3.5.

WORD FM had another great book thanks to all of you and your support.

What does the future hold for stations like WXDX which sits at a 2.6? More importantly, what's going to happen to Rock station WRKZ which tumbled from a 3.0 to 1.6? The failed attempt at David Lee Roth on the radio is no doubt part of the cause but how will 'RKZ fair in the Opie and Anthony era? I predict a temporary, improvement but nothing that will last very long.

While most of meanings can be gleaned from context, it'd be nice it you explained radio lingo (like book) from time to time.

How's the show going? I haven't been listening, partly due to being busy and partly due to lack of a steady host. I hope all's well. :)

I do beg forgiveness. Often I fall into the industry "lingo" without realizing it.

The "book" is our quarterly report card if you will. The acuracy is always debated becuase they sample a small portion of listener and use the results to represent an entire audience.

The show has been great. Stil running on fill in hosts but I think we should have some exciting things very soon.

Currently one must write down every radio station they listened to and for how long over a week. Those results, combined with all the results from the listening area give you your ratings and are published in the "book".

Ah, yes, I filled in one of those radio diaries for a week back while Jerry was still hosting.

I hope you spelled WORD correctly!

Where do you fill in a radio diary? I would like to do one but have never heard of it until now.

You get selected at random.
