The LA Times calls it “a key link between the Republican Party and Christian conservatives” and claims “a loss by Santorum would be a signifier of the end of that Republican revolution.”

With all the old people in PA, especially Pittsburgh, I don't hold out much hope for Santorum, even though he mopped the floor with Casey's smirking face in the debates.
What is it with liberal candidates having that bemused, smarmy smirk when discussing how they are going to pass laws that affect our lives? Is it a reflection on how they view the unwashed masses? Or just their opponents?
Senator Santorum must unify the conservative base, or we are going to lose this Senate seat. Even nationally syndicated columnist Robert Novak noted last week in his column that Senator Santorum's support from the conservative base "has been shaky".
The largest obstacle in rallying the conservative base continues to be this issue of the Senator's efforts to campaign on behalf of candidates whose positions directly oppose the beliefs of his conservative base. Unfortunately, it's not just the Specter - Toomey race. Santorum aggressively campaigned in primary elections for Jim Greenwood, Charlie Dent and Doug Forrester, all of whom are pro-abortion, and all of whom had pro-life primary opponents.
Approaches have been made to the Senator regarding this problem by other groups and individuals, and these efforts were rebuffed by the Senator. This problem could literally be solved in seconds, with a simple assurance from the Senator, stating that he will not campaign against conservative primary candidates. Problem solved!
Bob Casey is absolutely correct when he says the only "crisis" in social security is his opponent's risky private account scheme.
Uh huh... tell us that again after it is bankrupt because the baby boomers have retired and are demanding their benefits. Heap on top of that the fact that the liberal legacy of abortion has left us short over 25 million workers to date. Your myopic view of the situation is simply staggering.
Once again, a leftist proves that the defining characteristic of liberalism is the inability to grasp the concept of cause and effect.
I don't agree with Santorum 100% of the time but I just can't vote against him by voting for Casey.
I'm concerned about some of the people he supports and I talked to him about it. They way he explained it, you have to look at it as a team. The Seniors have the power and pull to get things done. Sometimes you have to give in order to take. It's politics and it stinks but it always better to hold you nose then grabs your ankles!
