Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato says he specifically stayed out of the labor negotiations at the Port Authority because there was nothing concrete about them, until now.
Mr. Onorato yesterday called on the authority and Local 85 of the Amalgamated Transit Union, which represents 2,300 bus and trolley workers and support personnel, to accept the settlement recommended by a fact-finder.
"I am encouraging both management and the union to accept [the fact-finder's report] because it addresses the issue of legacy costs, which is the biggest problem facing the Port Authority," Mr. Onorato said.
If they get greedy it may be for the last time!
