Josh Howard, the "60 Minutes Wednesday" executive producer whose first show included the now-discredited report on President Bush's military service record, resigned from CBS News on Tuesday.
Howard was one of three CBS News executives asked to step down in January after an independent panel concluded that the network exercised poor judgment in using documents it could not authenticate for a Sept. 8 story suggesting Bush received favored treatment in the Texas Air National Guard during the early 1970s.
The other two executives, CBS News senior vice president Betsy West and senior broadcast producer Mary Murphy, resigned several weeks ago. But Howard had refused until Tuesday.
