Two weeks after the repeal of the unpopular pay raises, fewer than half of the lawmakers who accepted the extra money have decided to pay it back.
Some say they donated the four-month pay raise to charity. One said he bought a new water heater with the money. Another said he spent it on chimney work.
And while the repeal law did not require lawmakers to repay the money, some said they believed it essentially was a mandate to pay it back.
Ahh yeah, when you steal something you should give it back.
