Virgil Goode, Jr. (R-VA), under fire from a civil rights group and some colleagues, said on Thursday that he will not retract a letter warning about more Muslims being elected if immigration laws were not strengthened (Fox News). The New York Times today revisits Dennis Prager’s criticisms of Rep.-elect Keith Ellison (D-MN) in “Holocaust Museum Rebukes Member for Koran Comment.” For background on this story and a link to Mr. Goode’s letter see Tom Zeller, Jr. at “The Lede.” Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal editorializes on “Meatpacking raids, Mitt Romney and Other Immigration Follies.”
