The story explains “The ad showed two auto mechanics accidentally kissing while eating the same candy bar and then ripping out some chest hair to do something "manly." One of the alternate endings on the Snickers Web site showed the men attacking each other.” Later: “The Web site also featured video of players from the Super Bowl teams reacting to the kiss.” So Human Rights Campaign president Joe Solmonese complained “This type of jeering from professional sports figures at the sight of two men kissing fuels the kind of anti-gay bullying that haunts countless gay and lesbian school children on playgrounds all across the country.” Now, being grossed out by a homosexual kiss fuels “anti-gay bullying”?

that commercial should not have been aired, it was in poor taste.
Evidently, the left does believe that "being grossed out by a homosexual kiss fuels “anti-gay bullying”.
In Newsweek a few years ago, George Will documented a “test” given to college students measuring the students’ reaction when being shown gay porn. If the students revealed any discomfort or repulsion, they were labeled as homophobic. Although the college in question later stopped this practice, it revealed the mindset of the college professors and staff. (Sorry, no link available.)
I don't know who that commercial was supposed to appeal to. According to recent sales info, it wasn't all that effective either, unlike Emerald Nuts, who's sales jumped after their Robert Goulet commercial.
