Pa is Borrowing To Be Green

(AP) — The [Pennsylvania] State House on Tuesday voted in favor of borrowing $850 million to encourage use of cleaner energy sources, a main element of Gov. Ed Rendell's energy strategy.

As one astute blogger noted, “Paying back $850,000,000 with interest leaves us with a 1.7 billion that we’ll be taxed to pay back.” This is $141 for every man woman and child in Pennsylvania. Yet the 126 Pennsylvania House members that voted for this peace of feel good legislation will tell their constituents that they did not vote to increase taxes.
