IRAQIS MUCH HAPPIER AND IRAQIS VERY UNHAPPY

It's conflicting polls. Only 27% think there is a civil war in Iraq, compared with 61% who do not, according to the survey carried out last month. (Times Online)

At the same time, this USA Today headline: Iraqis see hope drain away. The awful story begins: Jobs gone and schools closed. Marriages delayed and children mourned. Markets bombed and clean water in short supply. Speaking freely now a dangerous act. And hope lost. There was hope under Saddam? (USA Today)

Which story do you think the rest of the media picked up? ABC News was part of the second poll, and CBS news’ main story screamed “4 Years On, Iraq War Bloody As Ever.” (CBS News)

From Barone: "There is something profoundly wrong when opposition to the war in Iraq seems to inspire greater passion than opposition to Islamist extremism," Sen. Joseph Lieberman said in a speech last week. What is profoundly wrong is that too many of us are operating off the default assumption and have lost sight of who our real enemies are. (Townhall)
