Arlen Specter invited a dozen of his closest political allies and top fundraisers to his home in Philadelphia's East Falls neighborhood for Sunday brunch. On the menu were state and national politics and how to rebuild after last year's elections. But it quickly became obvious that Specter had other motives: He's running again in 2010.

Given that Specter will be 80 in 2010, and his razor-thin Republican Primary victory over Pat Toomey in 2004, this is a surprise. While Pat Toomey has yet not stated what he will do, perhaps we will see another Specter – Toomey race in ’10.
