As anyone with debt knows, spending more won't help erase what you already owe. On Capitol Hill, however, the new budget proposal suggests that someone else could pay down the country's borrowings while Congress expands the programs that got the nation into debt in the first place.
Under the Democrats' plan, that "someone else" is the American taxpayer. The House is scheduled to vote today on the latest budget, which the Heritage Foundation refers to as "a study in fiscal irresponsibility."
While liberals claim their plan won't raise taxes, it does allow the President's popular tax cuts to expire, resulting in a massive $392 billion tax increase for Americans over the next five years. Those with the lowest incomes will shoulder the biggest tax burdens. What came of the Democrats' claim that they advocate for the poor? Call your leaders and encourage them to cut American families a break!
