TIMES/CBS CLAIMS AMERICANS WANT GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE

The specific question didn’t manage to make it into the story. (NY Times) According to this poll, Americans have wanted the government to pay for healthcare for ten years. And, even more tricky, Americans are slightly LESS willing to pay higher taxes for this than they were in 1993 (see question 31.) Also worth noting, those taking the poll were 25 percent Republican, 35 percent Democrat, 33 percent Independent. (NY Times) Right on cue, USA Today does a story with the headline “Study: Uninsured kids fare worse at hospitals” (USA Today) Somehow missed by the brilliant folks at USA Today, the group doing the “study” is a left-wing outfit promoting universal healthcare. I wonder if the poll would come out the same if people realized that the same government they want to manage their healthcare also manages Walter Reed hospital's healthcare.
