Youth pastor released on bond

A judge granted a motion today to release a 21-year-old youth pastor from Allegheny County Jail in connection with the shooting death of a 15-year-old girl.

After attorney Michael Foglia explained that his client Keith Owens, a Petra Ministries youth pastor, had no prior record, Allegheny County Judge John A. Zottola agreed to release the defendant to house arrest on $5,000 straight bond.

Police charged Mr. Owens, 21, of Duquesne, with involuntary manslaughter, endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors. Investigators said a 14-year-old Penn Hills boy was inspecting a sawed-off shotgun at Mr. Owens' home when it discharged, instantly killing West Mifflin Area High School sophomore Chelsea McAllister.

I feel that the 14 year old should not be charged because he did not know the gun was loaded and should not have been given the gun in the first place. He has suffered enough tramatic experiences from the whole ordeal.
