Hillary jumps in PA Senate Race

According to the New York Post, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, who supports abortion rights gave the maximum $10,000 to pro-life Democrat Bob Casey, who is expected to run a close race with Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania. It's the largest donation Clinton gave to any politician in 2005.

Why would Bob Casey take money from a person with opposing views on such a criitcal and self-choosen core issue?

The National Organization for Women and other groups Clinton wants in her camp for her Senate race are so anti-Casey, they've got an online petition calling on Democratic leaders to scuttle his bid.

Casey, who is running against GOP incumbent Rick Santorum, also infuriated liberal Democrats last month when he came out in support of new Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito. Clinton not only voted against Alito, she backed a failed filibuster to block his high-court bid.

HillPAC gave $5,000 apiece to six of Clinton's Senate colleagues up for re-election this year, but saved the big bucks for Casey and Sen. Robert Byrd (W.Va.), a former Ku Klux Klan member who was one of just four Dems to vote for Alito.

Casey was handpicked by Sen. Charles Schumer — who is leading Democratic efforts to retake the Senate — to oust the conservative Santorum this fall, believing a pro-lifer like Casey is the party's only hope to win.

Some questions must be asked: Does Hillary really support Casey? What is expexted from Casey if he wins? Is this a true shift in the Democratic party or just a wolf in sheeps clothing?
There are many things here that just don't add up.
