Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center

CHRISTIANS FOR FAIR WITNESS ON THE MIDDLE EAST will hold a Press Conference to warn against the anti-Israel and anti-Semitic messages that may be conveyed by the Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center (Sabeel) at its conference at First United Methodist Church in Pittsburgh beginning Friday February 24.
Sabeel is a Palestinian Ecumenical group that has held regional conferences all over the United States and describes its mission as finding a just peace in Palestine/Israel.
“Sabeel however, has a history of demonizing the State of Israel rather than truly seeking a just peace,” says Sr. Ruth Lautt, O.P. “Our goal is to warn Christian leaders about the dangers of using Sabeel’s dishonest narrative about the Arab/Israeli conflict. This is not Christian witness. This is propaganda that may lead to a dangerous weakening of the perceived right of Israel to exist and will ultimately divide our churches.”

WHERE: Pittsburgh Hilton
The Heinz Room
