Pa. schools say they need more help from state

I don’t place much credence in the Pennsylvania School Board Association’s plea. Two years ago, the PSBA and the Pennsylvania School Teacher’s Association (PSEA) both lobbied against voter referendum on school property tax increases. Voter referendum would have helped keep school spending in check.
It was revealing that on their respective web pages, the argument against voter referendum was the same, that is, the same as in word-for-word verbatim. Between lobbying for OBE and Chapter 4, and “copying” position papers from each other’s web sites, the ties between the PSEA and PSBA are a little too close for comfort.
I know this is not popular to say in this state but I think we need to remove the union from this.
There is no proformance incentive. The teachers should work for the people in the community and be accountable to them. I'm all for paying a good teacher good wages. In fact we should tie the paychecks of our elected officals to school results in their districts. Then see how quickly things get fixed.
