Voters Send Tax Relief Back to Harrisburg

New tax? No way, voters say. For the third time in less than a decade, a proposal to give local school districts the option of lowering residential property taxes - with a catch - has fallen flat.
After months of work, the latest local school property tax scam was rejected.

Pennsylvania voters' widespread rejection Tuesday of an income tax to replace a portion of their school property taxes now has state leaders considering alternatives, including a statewide sales tax increase to reduce the property tax and controls on school spending. I like the spending controls but why is that they always have to raise a tax to lower a tax? That not accomplishing anything but moving money from one pocket to the other. I guess they think we are too stupid to notice.
