OBAMA’S PASTOR BLAMES MESSENGERS

In a PBS interview: Moyers only posted a portion of the interview so it’s not clear if he asked any logical questions, like “do you really believe the United States created AIDS to kill blacks?” Instead, the segment focused only on those who put the clips out there, as though they are to blame. In context, his sermons are still outrageous. (ABC News)

Wright will be speaking to the National Press Club on Monday. (Sun Times)

Meanwhile, now Harry Reid says he plans to pressure superdelegates to commit by July 1. (Roll Call) And some in the media are blatantly trying to help Obama.

Howard Fineman gives him image recommendations. (Newsweek) And Paul Krugman suggests Obama and Democrats in general “portray themselves as the party of economic security, the party that created Social Security and Medicare and defended those programs against Republican attacks — and the party that can bring assured health coverage to all Americans.” (NY Times)

But, as Charles Krauthammer points out, Obama’s problems aren’t so simple. “Then came the three amigos: Tony Rezko, the indicted fixer; Jeremiah Wright, the racist reverend; William Ayers, the unrepentant terrorist. And then Obama’s own anthropological observation that “bitter” working-class whites cling to guns and religion because they misapprehend their real class interests.” (Prime Time Politics)
