United Methodists Elect New Liberal Judicial Council

The General Conference of the United Methodist Church elected five of the nine members of the Judicial Council, the church's highest court. The Judicial Council is charged with interpreting the church's Book of Discipline and frequently rules on controversial matters, such as enforcing the church's teachings on human sexuality or clergy conduct.

A slate of candidates backed by liberal caucus groups was elected. Some of these new council members are openly opposed to the church's teachings on homosexuality. Seemingly only one of the five would be regarded as a supporter of the church's stance.

This may be a tragic turn of events. We will continue to follow developments.

Sounds like a great turn of events to me... all depends on your perspective.

It's not really my perspective. It the age old perspective of God. The church teaching comes from Him and does not change. If it does it's no longer the word of God but the revision of man.

I don't mean to sound harsh but these changes are not real. You are only folling yourself to think otherwise.
