Public Hearing by Senate Appropriations Com. on Marriage Protection Amendment April 29th

On behalf of Pennsylvania For Marriage, thank you for all the support and action you have taken to help move the Marriage Amendment along. From calls to your legislators to joining the capitol hearings, you have made a huge impact on the success of this campaign. With that said, there is still more that needs to be done to continue this success.

So far, there have been two public hearings on SB 1250 - the Marriage Protection Amendment -under the direction of the Senate Judiciary Committee. This committee has already voted to pass SB 1250 into the next phase- the Senate Appropriations Committee. On April 29th, there will be another public hearing on the Marriage Protection Amendment; this time run by the Appropriations Committee. This committee will be the next to vote on the bill before it can reach the full Senate.

This public hearing will take place at the Capitol Building in Harrisburg, East Wing Room 8E-A. The hearing will start at 9am. After the hearing, the Appropriations Committee will soon vote to pass Senate Bill 1250 onto the full Senate. They are in recess until after the election - Maybe you can reach local ones in their home offices.

So here are the action steps you can take in the coming weeks to help the marriage efforts
1. If you can come to Harrisburg, plan to attend the hearing on April 29th and get as many people as possible to come with you.
2. Please pass this message on and pray for the pro-marriage testimony being given at the hearing
3. Contact your state senator and representative and ask them to support SB 1250. If you don't know who they are or need contact information for them, go to the Citizen Action Center.
4. Contact the Senators on the Appropriations Committee- they are next to vote on this bill following the hearing. Click here for their contact information.
