The march towards the GOP State Committe Endorsement continues; in a letter sent to GOP State Chairwoman Eileen Melvin, Bucks County Chairman Harry Fawkes announced his endorsement of Lynn Swann for Governor and Jim Matthews for Lieutenant Governor.
"Over the past few months I have sought input, advice and opinions from many Bucks County residents about who they think are the strongest candidates, as well as what would be best for the future of Bucks County, our region and Pennsylvania. I have spoken to elected officials from the state, county and municipal levels, party leaders from the precinct, municipal and county levels, as well as members of the general public about their ideas and preferences for candidates for Governor and Lt. Governor."
"I heard about the celebrity of Lynn Swann and the excitement and enthusiasm he generates. His leadership skills from on the field and in business will equip him to forge alliances and "call the plays" in Harrisburg. His talent for connecting with people allows him to convey a strong message for change and also helps him bring new volunteers and supporters to the Republican Party."
"An overwhelming message I heard was a need for something new in Harrisburg - a person unconnected to the past, who will bring a new vision and vitality to the job."
"Based on everything I have heard and learned I believe Lynn Swann is the best person to carry these messages to the voters and to again make Pennsylvania the best place to live, work and raise a family."
"When we convene in Harrisburg on February 11th, I am pleased to report that Bucks County will be casting a near unanimous vote for Lynn Swann and Jim Matthews for Governor and Lt. Governor."
